Khan and Arthur to Star in Manchester

British boxing stars Alex Arthur and Amir Khan will both feature at the Manchester Evening News on Saturday 6th September in a blockbuster show promoted by Frank Warren. All-action Arthur, the WBO World Super-Featherweight Champion, makes the second defence of his title against a challenger to be announced. Edinburgh star Arthur, 29, won the Interim title against Koba Gogoladze in July last year and made one defence against Stephen Foster Junior last December before he was installed as full champion. Bolton hot-shot Khan won a thrilling five-round shoot-out against rival Michael Gomez to retain his Commonwealth Lightweight title last Saturday night.Khan, 21, dropped Gomez in the first but was then floored himself in the second before he stopped the brave Mancunian in the fifth round.Khan's opponent will also be announced in due course.This will be the first time that Arthur and Khan have fought at the M.E.N Arena that has hosted some of the biggest names and greatest fights in British boxing.
